On The Beach...

This is going to be kind of a weird comment, but bear with me. I was looking at this picture and it made me think about looking at photos of when I was a kid--like, family photos. And then I got to thinking about how when I am looking at those photos, I am more or less thinking about them as photos of MY childhood. Whereas for my Mom, for example, they are photos of HER young adulthood. Like, we are all the main characters of our own story, you know? So when I look at this photo I think about each one of your kids and I think of them looking back at this photo in 20 or 40 years, and thinking of it as the photo of their childhood. Whereas, when I look at this photo, to me it's the photo of my friend's mid-adulthood, the photo of her being a Mom of young kids.

You know?

I totally know! I think the same thing all the time. Memory is such a funky thing. And I'm so happy to be creating these kinds of memories for my kids :) and me and B :)
